Does your typical day usually look like this?
You wake up in the morning feeling like you got up on the wrong side of the bed. The thought of the new day makes you nervous because you know the kind of tasks waiting for you, and it’s clear you don’t have enough time to get everything done. The idea of work, which you’re getting ready for, adds to your nervousness.
Out of habit, you pick up your phone to check what’s new on social media and the news for the day. You get ready and head to work.

At work, you were greeted by colleagues discussing the latest gossip about coworkers who do nothing yet still get paid, gossiping about others without anything better to do. Then news of a traffic accident where 13 people died, a plane crash in India, current price increases, and so on followed. Tension mounts as you start to think they might be right and that justice truly doesn’t exist.
Days pass, and situations and events seem to repeat day after day. You feel trapped in a vicious circle and don’t know how to break free. Someone once mentioned to you that this is called the comfort zone and that you need to break out of it. You wonder, how do you do that?
Then you hear about someone who is always smiling and in a good mood every day. By chance, you meet that person and ask how they manage to maintain a positive attitude despite these turbulent times. They reveal their secret of four rules they apply daily:
- Wake up to favorite and cheerful music.
- Avoid negative and useless news.
- Stay away from negative people.
- Find something useful in every situation.
- WAKING UP TO CHEERFUL MUSIC…
…that suits your ears will boost the happiness hormones, helping you start the day in a good mood. Once you get used to playing music right after waking up, your subconscious mind will accept it, and you may start singing as soon as you wake up. Over time, you might find yourself dreaming about a song that you’ll hum all morning.

- AVOIDING NEGATIVE AND USELESS NEWS…
…that are all around us. This is excellent advice if you want to stay focused on positivity and maintain a good mood. If you aim for that, it’s clear you need to limit your phone usage and especially the topics you follow. If you read, choose constructive magazines, as well as TV channels and shows.
- AVOIDING NEGATIVE PEOPLE
It’s said that a person is the average of the five people they spend the most time with. Our people translated this into the saying „you are who you hang out with.“ Maybe now is the right time to reconsider your environment. We cannot change other people, but we can alter our attitude and individuals with whom we share valuable and irretrievable time. Ask yourself: „Who are the people who have the most influence in my life?“

4. FIND SOMETHING USEFUL IN EVERY SITUATION
The Stoics taught me that I cannot change what happens around me and that I should accept it for myself. Faith helps me to understand and accept both the good and the bad that happens to me. Experience has taught me that every „why“ has its „therefore,“ so everything has its reasons and nothing happens by chance.
Once I accepted this as a fact, I began to think in terms of „Why is this good?“, „What lessons can I learn from this?“, „How will this experience benefit me in the future?“ Over time, you will easily practice this exercise and develop a habit of always thinking optimistically and being more cheerful!
